President's MessageAs the President of Mu Kappa Omega Chapter, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our International award winning website. We hope you find this site to be a helpful tool in locating information about our chapter programs and community service activities that we’re providing to the citizens of the Ft. Bend County and Greater Houston areas. Mu Kappa Omega Chapter was established in 1978. Our chapter theme for 2011-2012 is MKΩ: One Love, One Focus and One Chapter, which describes the culture of this chapter. This theme reflects our love for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., our focus to serve all mankind and our cohesiveness as a sisterly, family oriented chapter. We will continue with the mission to be one of our sorority’s preeminent chapters operating in excellence, servicing our communities, providing its members with leadership development opportunities and educating its members about the chapter’s and sorority’s rich history. We celebrate the many traditions which make MKΩ a Regional and International award winning chapter of the Sensational South Central Region as well as cultivate a chapter that promotes member creativity and individuality. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was established on January 15, 1908 and has continued to be the premier leader in providing “service to all mankind” with its various program initiatives. Our 28th International President, Carolyn House Stewart, Esq. has established the program initiative “Global Leadership through Timeless Service." This signature program includes: Emerging Young Leaders, Health Initiatives that encompass Asthma Prevention and Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability, Global Poverty, Economic Security, Social Justice and Human Rights, and the Internal Leadership Training for External Service Initiative for members of the chapter. The 250+ members Mu Kappa Omega Chapter are committed to developing global leaders and providing timeless service to meet the various needs of communities. The members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Mu Kappa Omega continue to strengthen the ivy vine through our various programs of service we implement each year.
