The Emerging Young Leaders activity for November was held in the library of Lake Olympia Middle School on Saturday, November 12th from 9:30 AM-12:00 PM.  Mentor Deatrice Parsons, the Character Building AKAdemy leader, presented an interactive lesson on Appropriate Attire and Body Image.

Emerging Young LeadersMu Kappa Omega Holds Health Symposium

 

Mu Kappa Omega held a Health Symposium on November 5, 2011 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Stafford Elementary School in Stafford, Texas. State Rep. Garnet Coleman provided an interactive keynote address on Healthcare Reform, and Dr. Kelli Burroughs, Nettie Jones, LPC, Dr. Regina Wells, and Shonda Taylor provided informative, energetic breakout sessions on gynecological, physical, and mental health.

It was a picturesque day for more than 150 golfers to tee off at the 11th Annual Pink on the Green Golf Tournament. Held on October 3rd at Sugar Creek Golf Club the annual event benefiting Julia F. Thompson, Inc. was a tremendous success.

Emerging Young LeadersEmerging Young Leaders Starts Off a New School Year 

The first EYL activity for the fall was held on Saturday, October 22nd at Greater St. Matthew Church Children’s Building.  After a light breakfast and social, the girls were led into ice-breakers and games.  They were then given introductions to the EYL mentors and an overview of the EYL program.
