One of the greatest gifts in life is to be asked by your peers to serve in some capacity. Thanks to each of you for affording me the opportunity to serve as your First Vice President for 2009-2010.
As Mu Kappa Omega goes into our fourth decade, excitement is in the air. With that in mind, my goal is to make sure that we maintain the 3 E’s - energy, enthusiasm, and empathy. As members, we should celebrate the goodness and greatness that is uniquely ours and aim to respect each other. As First Vice President of the greatest chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Incorporated, I am pleased to support, encourage and promote programs that support our international program. We are in the 3rd year of ESP - An Extraordinary Service Program - and are continually developing new activities to enhance our support.
Our latest Strategic Plan survey results showed several opportunities for improvement. There are plans underway to address our areas of concern. All of our committees will be working to address our areas of concern and look forward to your continued feedback. We will be working to: • Increase member participation in program activities • Partner with community schools and businesses in the Ft. Bend community • Increase Mu Kappa Omega visibility • Develop leadership training sessions • Promote the use of Memberclicks to support our Programs
I am very proud to be part of this enthusiastic movement and ask that each of you continue to participate and let your ideas be known. The only bad idea is the one not communicated.
It takes absolutely nothing to be a spectator or consumer, let’s all be participants. The good news is that God places gifts in all of us - the bad news is that some of us sit on those talents. We have a broad circle of talent - let’s get it started and be: Enthusiastic Sorors Participating
Sisterly,
Fayetta Tasby
First Vice President
