When one is physically and mentally fit and poised to embrace all of life’s rewards and challenges requires a balance of emotional intelligence, optimal psychology, and spirituality. Studies have proven that when all of the elements are in divine order, physical health, relationships, and life satisfaction will be the result. Therefore, address the many health issues and crises that face the Black community in the United States and globally. The mandate in this platform is to gain Emotional Empowerment; develop Social Support networks and raise Public awareness of issues and crises facing the Black community.
Mu Kappa Omega's Approach:
Conduct forums around physical and mental health topics that impact the Black family and community.
Develop monthly topical activities and discussion that motivate and engage sorors in emotionally healthy behaviors
Develop tools and venues for monitoring and managing health resource more efficiently and creating personal responsibility for a healthy lifestyle.
Raise public awareness through partnerships with global/national organizations for physical and mental health issues and crises facing the Black community.
Implement a stroke awareness, prevention and recognition targeting elementary aged childrenparticipate in American Diabetes Association programs and events.
Participate and support the “ESP 1908 Centennial Walk”.
Participate in the Chicago Defender’s Million Pound Challenge.
Partner with local health agencies and providers to conduct and sponsor venues that foster mental and physical health for youth, seniors and the community.

Mu Kappa Omega joined forces with the sisterhood of other Alpha Kappa Alpha women worldwide in the AKA Walk fo Solidarity. The purpose of the walk was to promote emotional, physical, and spiritual healing among all sorority members.
-Family Diabetes Awareness Day
June 5, 2010
Mu Kappa Omega partnered with the American Diabetes Association to hold a Family Diabetes Awareness event at Covenant Glen United Methodist Church. Activities included diabetes education, glucose and blood pressure screenings, kid's arts and crafts, a cooking demonstration, and an aerobic exercise.
