    National Stance:

     

    Economic literacy sets the tone for understanding, mastering and implementing the Economic Keys To Success.  Preparing our community for the world market and improving the living standards in the Black community.

    To achieve these goals the sorority, through Education, Synergy and Partnerships will develop and disseminate the Economic Keys to Success. 

     

     

     
     

    Mu Kappa Omega's Approach:

     

  • Devote a minimum of 15 minutes at each chapter meeting to discuss economic issues
  • Increase economic literacy of black youth in the middle school grades through the “Earn Save Prosper KIDS CLUB”, which helps young people understand the importance of saving.
  • Provide high school students with the opportunity to learn the basics of entrepreneurship while enhancing basic understanding of economic growth through the High School Earning Set Potential  program .
  • Stress the importance of a college education in earnings potential and a sense of community responsibility.
  • Increase economic literacy of the greater community by providing a Economic Smart Fair

    Recent Events 

     

    -  Scholarship Luncheon

        May 15, 2010

     

    Mu Kappa Omega in conjunction with the non-profit organization Julia F. Thompson, Inc. hosted the 24th Annual Scholarship Luncheon honoring the 2010 JFT/MKO scholarship recipients.  Each recipient presented a display showcasing their activities and accomplishments throughout high school.  They were also presented to the audience and shared their personal thoughts on receiving this honor.  There were 10 new recipients and 5 continuing recipients.

    Mu Kappa Omega participated in the city-wide Lemonade Day event.  This event introduces kids to entrepreneurship by encouraging them to start a lemonade stand and sell their lemonade to the entire community.
